Academic appointments have included Johns Hopkins University (Wilmer Eye
Institute) and the University of Maryland. Dr. Wong prefers clinical practice most
of all. Given the complexity of vitreoretinal disease, he feels that communication
between the patient and family is usually lacking. Educating the patient and the
family is the key to a successful relationship. Understanding retinal
disease is difficult, accepting visual loss is harder.
